Our story is a family one. My husband's father started breeding Schnauzers in 1967. He was always passionate about the canine world and passed on this passion and love for Schnauzers to his son, Louis-Marc.

Since childhood, Louis-Marc has worked with his father to take care of the well-being of dogs and their education. In 2010, his wife Elisabeth joined him at the center as a dog handler. She also fell in love with Schnauzers. Together, they work with the goal of preserving the beauty of the Schnauzer breed.

Breeding Program

Our breeding is in a family environment. Our reproductive females are placed in families, who take care of the puppies until they are seven weeks old. We make sure the puppies are desensitized to as much as possible. The family environment gives females the opportunity to have all the attention and love they need. In addition, our puppies see more things so are more sociable when they arrive at home!

At seven weeks old we take them to our home to do some behavior testing. When selling the puppy, we like to spend time with families to better target what they are looking for and make a perfect match! The puppies leave only at 8 weeks of age.

In addition, our  females have their first mating from the age of 2 years old. We always skip a heat between matings for the welfare of our females. Our breeding males and females are checked for any hereditary problems (hip, elbow and eyes) by a veterinarian.

All of the  mating and birthing are done naturally in the dog's home. Our dogs are always up-to-date for the base vaccines (DHPP), Rabies, and Bordetella (kennel cough), and their health is closely monitored.

We are members of the Canadian Kennel Club and we make sure to respect the standards of the breed. This organization has recognized purebred dogs in Canada since 1900.

Puppies and Reservation Documents

*** Take note that we always have first choice of puppies from any litter if we want to keep puppies for our breeding program. The reservation list works with the date that we receive your reservation document. We are not responsible if people change their minds about puppy preferences. ***

**** Please note that our reservation list for miniature schnauzers is currently closed. A message will be displayed on our Facebook page "Elevage Le Baron MDR" when it is reopened. ****

To be on the reservation list, you must complete the reservation form. We take a maximum of ten names on the list at a time. If you are on this list, an email will be sent to you and a deposit of $500 plus taxes will be requested.

The deposit is not refundable.

All of our puppies are sold with natural tails and long ears. They are registered with the Canadian Kennel Club and benefit from a two-year guarantee against hereditary diseases. We give them their first dose of the base vaccine (DHPP) and Bordetella (kennel cough). They are also de-wormed, micro-chipped, and they each undergo an individual health examination at the veterinarian before leaving us. We also conduct a temperament test on each puppy to ensure they match what you are looking for.
